Fact sheet on the Land Value (Amendment) Act, 2019

Land issues in Kenya have traditionally been emotive; especially with respect to compulsory land acquisition and land compensation. The indigenous and local communities have as a result of these challenges ended up getting a raw deal. The government of Kenya recently passed the Land Value (Amendment) Act, 2019 in an attempt to solve some of these challenges. However, there are still glaring gaps. We’ve prepared the LVA fact sheet to help put the challenges into perspective.
