Natural Justice offers unpaid internships (of 3 months or more) to individuals either currently studying or recently qualified in the areas of law, policy, environmental science, community development and communications. We also accept fellowship applications through informal or formal partnerships with certain universities and accept both African and international applicants. However, African interns and fellows are strongly encouraged to apply.
Natural Justice provides internships or fellowships at one of its three Hubs: Cape Town, Dakar or Nairobi, but may also place interns in a country where there are staff/projects with the capacity required to manage an intern.
Each office has its own policy on internships and applicants are encouraged to indicate the country/s they are applying for and the dates they will be available. Those applying to the Nairobi and Cape Town hubs must apply for a fellowship of six months to one year. However, the Core Hub, also based in Cape Town and supporting the organisation as a whole, accepts shorter internships. Individuals with a French-language competency are encouraged to apply for a position in Senegal or other French-speaking countries where we operate. These are flexible placements.
If you are interested, please send your CV and a MOTIVATIONAL LETTER indicating your areas of interest and availability to info(at)naturaljustice.org.za.
Please add ‘INTERNSHIP’ and your name in the subject line of the email. Please remember to indicate where you would like placement and the dates you are available.
