Coming Soon: The Path to Clean Energy: How Legislation and Policy Can Create an Enabling Environment for the Just Energy Transition

A transition to renewable energy is necessary for the world to achieve its ambition to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and halt the progress of climate change.

It is also an opportunity to address numerous societal problems, including poverty and access to basic services. Governments can use legislation, regulatory tools and policies to
enable a transition to renewable energy that is just and inclusive.

This report examines several examples from across the world where countries have used renewable energy legislation and policies as an enabler to facilitate a just and equitable energy transition, highlighting both the successes and challenges these pieces of legislation and policy have faced.

This report will be published on Monday 11 November 2024.
