Rantsho Moraka joined the Natural Justice Southern Africa Hub as a Senior Legal Fellow in November 2024. Originally from Swartklip in the North West province of South Africa, he is currently based in Pretoria.
He had previously served as a Senior Legal Consultant for the South African Human Rights Commission for more than three years and prior to working for the Commission, he clerked for the Justices of the Supreme Court of Appeal in South Africa.
In 2019 he passed the Bar exam and was admitted to practice as counsel at the Johannesburg Society of Advocates. In 2024 Rantsho graduated with an LLM in Human Rights Law from the University College London as a recipient of the Constitutional Court Trust’s Pius Langa Memorial Fellowship.
He has an interest in Indigenous frameworks for foregrounding climate justice theory and litigation strategies. Rantsho enjoys the outdoors, reading fiction and travelling the country.
