Lucien Limacher joined Natural Justice in January 2022. He is the Head of Programmes at Natural Justice, where he leads multiple workstreams and initiatives across the African continent. He works closely with teams across the organisation to ensure strategic alignment, impact, and innovation in Natural Justice’s programming.
Lucien holds an LLB and LLM from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a qualified attorney and mediator. He brings over a decade of experience across both the public and private legal sectors, providing him with a unique perspective on litigation, negotiation, and mediation.
Prior to joining Natural Justice, Lucien served as an environmental attorney at the Legal Resources Centre (LRC), where he led the Legacy Programme and managed the Johannesburg regional office. In this role, he was involved in landmark public interest cases aimed at advancing environmental and social justice.
At Natural Justice, Lucien has been involved in various strategic litigation cases, contributing key insights to legal strategy and implementation. He has presented at numerous international conferences and convenings, supported the development of new initiatives within and beyond Natural Justice, and co-authored several research publications and reports.
