Lebohang Dube joined Natural Justice in February 2025 as a Programme Officer for the Standing with Communities programme in the Southern Africa Hub.
A soon-to-be admitted attorney (March 2025) with a passion for public interest law, decolonial thought, and human and environmental rights, hails from Pietermaritzburg in the KwaZulu-Natal province. He is currently based in Pretoria, in the Gauteng province.
Lebohang’s background includes working as a Candidate Attorney at the Centre for Child Law, where he gained experience in strategic impact litigation, advocacy, communications and legal research. He holds a LLB from the University of the Free State and is currently pursuing a LLM in Environmental Law at the University of Pretoria.
His Master’s research explores the development of indigenous knowledge-based environmental law jurisprudence, specifically focusing on centring indigenous knowledge systems (IKS).
Beyond his legal pursuits, he has been actively involved in civil society movements, working with organisations dedicated to advancing sexual and reproductive rights, environmental and climate justice, socio-economic rights and children’s rights.
