Farida Aliwa joined Natural Justice in October 2023 as the Executive Director.
An experienced African woman leader, Farida’s career has taken her around the world with various organisations, such as the United Nations, Save the Children and most recently with the Center for Reproductive Rights. She has a wealth of experience in leading organisations, transformative change and advancing environmental, gender and social justice across many parts of Africa. She has a background in International Human Rights Law, Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction, with over 15 years of experience in senior and executive leadership posts working on national, regional, and global policies and programmes that advance human rights, especially the rights of women, young people, and those living in low-income communities.
Farida is known for her passion, curiosity, entrepreneurial and positive spirit. This has led her to spearhead systemic and organisational change; build critical partnerships; and understand what is most important to people. This has also shaped her determination in developing high performing and diverse teams that make a difference to people’s lives.
One of her most important roles and joy is taking her children with her on this journey, raising them to love and appreciate people and planet.
