Allan is a Programme Officer in the Defending Rights programmatic stream, based in the Cape Town Hub. He returned to Natural Justice in January 2020, having previously worked as a Programme Officer for the Extractive and Infrastructure and Climate Change programmes, as well as a consultant on various Natural Justice projects.
Allan is a young admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa passionate about human rights, and how these fundamental rights are protected, enforced and promoted within underprivileged and resource-restricted community contexts. He is avidly interested in the interplay between socio-economic rights and environmental justice as they affect communities and individuals.
Allan holds a Bachelors and Masters of Law degree from the University of Cape Town, where he specialised in Human Rights Law. In line with his passion for human rights, socio-economic rights and environmental justice, Allan joined Natural Justice in order to strengthen a number of strategic programmes that seek to empower the communities that Natural Justice represents.
