Natural Justice calls on the Media to take urgent action to avert climate crisis in Nigeria

Media Practitioners in Nigeria have called for urgent action to respond to the climate emergency that the communities in Nigeria are undergoing. They made this call at a workshop on “reporting the environment and the climate emergency organized by Natural Justice under the auspices of African Activist for climate Justice in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

The media plays a positive role in ensuring that citizens and communities understand climate change and can interrogate efforts by burden bearers to reduce emissions and enhance their capacity to adapt to climate impacts. Natural Justice believes that the media has a strong role to play in enhancing public awareness and influencing public discourse on climate change. Media practitioners agreed to take bold and proactive to ensure they produce content on climate change for the people and about the people.
