Pooven Moodley Appointed as New Executive Director at Natural Justice

Pooven-Moodley
Natural Justice appoints South African human rights lawyer as incoming Executive Director.

Natural Justice is thrilled to announce the appointment of Pooven Moodley as our new Executive Director. Pooven, a South African human rights lawyer, has a long history of fighting for social and environmental justice in South Africa and beyond. Already as a young teen he stood up with others against the apartheid government in South Africa and has been a dedicated advocate for human rights ever since. His experiences range from working as a local human rights lawyer for the Legal Resources Centre in Port Elizabeth, South Africa; functioning as the Associate Country Director for Oxfam GB in South Africa; to being the Global Head of Campaigns at ActionAid International. He works with a range of social movements and communities, including indigenous communities, across the globe on a number of human rights related struggles. Most recently he successfully coordinated the Campaign for A Just Energy Future that supported halting the nuclear energy deal between South Africa and Russia.

At Natural Justice we are all incredibly excited and honoured to have Pooven transition into the role from 1 July and join our team on a full time basis on 1 September to guide our growing organisation into the future.
