Lucien Limacher joined Natural Justice in January 2022 as Head of the Defending Rights Program and Litigation. In this role, Lucien leads the defending rights program and works closely with the NJ teams across Africa. Lucien also has a particular focus on litigation and the co-ordination of NJs litigation team across the continent.
Lucien holds an LLB and LLM from the University of Witwatersrand and is a qualified attorney and mediator. Lucien has worked in both the public and private legal sectors for the past ten years, giving him a unique perspective on litigation, negotiation and mediation. Lucien was an environmental attorney at the Legal Resources Centre for the past four and half years. During his time at the Legal Resources Centre, he became head of the Legacy Programme and managed the Johannesburg regional office while pursuing various public interest cases.
