Nyaguthii Chege joined Natural Justice in September 2021 as Hub Director for the East Africa team based in Nairobi, Kenya. She has a JD from Columbia University School of Law and a Masters in International Affairs from the university’s School of International and Public Affairs. She has over 20 years of experience in sustainable development, public sector governance, and human resources development in the nonprofit sector, higher education institutions, and international financial institutions.
Before joining Natural Justice, she worked at The Greenbelt Movement in Nairobi, Kenya, first as the Internal Liaison Officer and most recently as the Executive Director. Previously, she served as Lecturer in Law and Director of Human Rights and International Law at the Office for Social Justice Initiatives at Columbia University School of Law in New York, and as the inaugural Director of Career Services and Professional Development at Peking University’s School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen, China. She also worked at the Natural Resources Defense Council and at The World Bank in Washington, DC.
