Programme Manager: Governance of Lands & Natural Resources/Traditional Knowledge & Access & Benefit Sharing
Adv. Lerato Seema is the Programme Manager for Governance of Lands & Natural Resources/Traditional Knowledge & Access & Benefit Sharing, based in the Cape Town Hub.
Lerato holds an LLB from the National University of Lesotho and has advanced course certificates in compliance management and human rights law.
He has been protecting and promoting human rights for past 10 years. He has assisted vulnerable groups such as women and children through a three-pronged strategy of advocacy, education and empowerment. His focus has been more on addressing issues that emanate from property dispossession vis-à-vis inheritance rights, children’s rights, equality rights and family law.
He has further engaged in promoting democracy and good governance through managing projects centered around civic and education for such vulnerable groups.
