Johnlyn van Reenen

Johnlyn was admitted as an Advocate of the Cape High Court in 2009. Her professional experience has been amassed predominantly in the civic sector, with a sustained focus on human rights. Over the past almost eleven years she has acquired extensive campaigning, lobbying and advocacy experience working in both national, regional and international organisations, at national, regional and continental levels, including Oxfam and Open Society Foundation in South Africa. She has worked with a broad range of stakeholders from grassroots communities to policy-makers; coordinated national, regional and continental networks; provided technical support to organisations; convened and facilitated dialogues, trainings and conferences; made policy submissions; delivered public presentations; and built up a modest publication record. Areas of thematic expertise include human rights; economic justice; mining and extractives; public and corporate sector accountability and public participation.
