Brian Dan Migowe

Environmental Justice Fellow: Kenya

Brian joined Natural Justice in August 2019 as an Environmental Justice Fellow in the Nairobi Hub, working across programmes.

Before joining Natural Justice, Brian was affiliated to the Centre for the Study of Human Rights Law (CSHR) at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, researching economic, social and cultural rights’ protections and directly supporting the work of the Advisory Group on Human Rights Leadership in Scotland.

Trained in human rights, Brian enjoys working in the nexus between human rights-centered research and practice towards progressive understanding, realisation, and protection of fundamental economic, social, cultural and environmental rights.

An adept writer, Brian has published and contributed to contemporary topical publications of the Platform (a socio-legal magazine in Kenya), the Advocates Magazine by the Law Society of Kenya, the Rightsviews of Columbia University, USA, and, most recently, as a guest contributor to human of the Faculty of Advocates, Scotland.

Brian holds an LL.M in Human Rights Law with merit from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and an LLB degree from the University of Nairobi. He is also a recipient of the Hesselbein Global Academy for Leadership and Civic Engagement at the University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA.
