Natural Justice LAPSSET Land Acquisition Map

By Natural Justice 9 July 2019

Kenyans, if you think your land might form part of the LAPSSET compulsory acquisition program, please consult the map courtesy of Natural Justice.

Note to Kenyans! The Government of Kenya published their intention to compulsorily acquire land for the LAPSSET development project through two notices in the Kenya Gazette dated 21st October 2016 and 15th February 2019. Both notices provided a list of coordinates identifying the pieces of lands to be acquired across different counties including Lamu, Garissa, Laikipia, Meru, Isiolo, Baringo and Turkana and Marsabit, for the various components of the LAPSSET project.

However, without being able to map out these coordinates, it would be difficult to know where the land lies and who will be affected.

NJ worked with partners to map these coordinates on google maps for the public to access. Using the coordinates in both notices, this map sets out components of the LAPSSET project particularly within Lamu, Garissa, Isiolo, Turkana and Marsabit Counties.

If you think your land might form part of the compulsory acquisition program, please see the map below. You will need to have the latest version of google maps in order to access it.
