Community Environmental Legal Officer
Rashid Karayu is a Community Environmental Legal Officer at Natural Justice, based in Moyale sub-county, within the Marsabit County of Kenya. Rashid supports communities affected by various infrastructure projects in the County, including providing legal training and guidance.
He has previous experience in peace and security issues at IGAD CEWARN, a department of Intergovernmental Authority on Development, working as a Field Monitor for the Moyale region. Rashid has served his community as a youth leader, cross-border peace ambassador, chair of community-based organisations (such as the Pastoralist Youth Development Network), and the Golbo Integrated Development Programme. Rashid is a trained P1 teacher at Eregi Teachers Training College in Kakamega and has completed a degree in education at the University of Nairobi.
